I just finished high-school not too long ago, and I’m still confused about what I want to pursue. This put a great deal of pressure on me. I’m a person who’s into genetics, specifically genetic engineering. I was, and still am, inspired by fictional technology and bio-researching companies such as Oscorp Industries. I’m thinking about starting a pharmaceutical company in the future myself. Also, is becoming a doctor and specializing in genetics the same as someone who studies genetic engineering or bio-engineering?
I’m in a dilemma. The reason I’m still thinking about it is that if I chose the medical career, I could enter the Weill Cornell accelerated medical program which is only 6 years long, so I’ll save about 2 years.
So, what should I pursue and study?
