I am a computer science student, and my research field is computational aspects of host pathogen interactions. As the name suggests, it is interdisciplinary. Now, since I know more of computer science than biology, i wanted to go for an internship in the labs where the subject of research is host-pathogen interactions. I have a few questions regarding this. The questions are:
1. Since I am doing my PhD in my institute and getting paid my fellowship and I am not a masters student, is it possible for me to get a paid internship?
2. Does an internship add any value to the PhD degree?
3. If I intend to go for an internship, should my supervisor be known to the person under whom I want to do my internship or is unknown students also given preference when asked for internships?
